As you probably know by now.....We love to cruise! Last week we returned from a 5 day cruise with our granddaughters! So different than travelling by ourselves! I wrote about that adventure last week, http://karanandmichael.blogspot.com/2014/04/giggly-girls-on-cruise.html
Today is part 2, A review of this great ship!
Today is part 2, A review of this great ship!
The Liberty was the only ship in port when we arrived...We had sailed on her before, and we were happy to see that she was still in tip top shape!
Our first stop after boarding was the Winjammer. As usual on boarding day it was mobbed, but as we were Diamond +. we were able to find a seat easily in our reserved room.
Our rooms were waiting for us after lunch, and the girls quickly changed into bathing suits...
and headed to the H20 zone, a wonderful water park for kids!
I think the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids did!
The cantilevered hot tubs was a fun stop for the girls. It is usually adults only, but I let them hop in for a minute, just for the experience! Note the ice cream in the girls hands....The free soft serve ice cream was sooooo good!
After the Lifeboat drill and a stop in the concierge for a cocktail,
We were off to dinner!
we had a wonderful table near the window on the second level!
The desserts were so good, the girls each had 2!
Swimming after the evening show.....was not crowded at all, and of course there was the outdoor movie to watch as well...
We had to race to get to the 1030 parade ( by then, Pops, and gone to bed, and Grandma was glassy eyed...)
We Karaoked
Danced
Rode the wave rider
Shopped till we dropped
and relaxed in our very messy girls room ( thats another story in part one....a giggly girls cruise!)
We were off to Labadee for our first port...for a day of sun and fun!
A great area for Kids
and the shopping here was much better than in Jamaica!!
Pops didn't seem any worse for wear, as we waited in line to board the ship.......
There are lots of things to do on the ship, if you aren't into fun and sun!
After golfing up on the top deck, you could stop for a gourmet cupcake in the cupcake cupboard
Or take in a Ice skating show
Imagine performing on ice, while the ship is sailing!
Or you could just wile away the time in the wine bar! A great place to sit outside and sip on great wine!
The Library had lots of books.....although who wants to read on a sun and fun cruise!
And the grand promenade was so fun just to sit and people watch! Not to mention the wine bar, the british Pub, Sorrentos, and the coffee bar! I'm surprised that we found time to shop!
And of course who could resist sitting up in the Viking Crown lounge for the awesome views....and a cocktail or 2 ( or 3, hehe)
Embarkation....No one beats Royal for ease of embarkation! We were on the ship in less than 15 minutes after arrival!
Ship.....This ship is in beautiful shape. We saw no signs of wear and tear, and the public areas are beautifully maintained.
Service...... The service was excellent. Our room attendant had lots to contend with, and he managed beautifully, and kept our room in tip top shape. Dining room service was wonderful, the food served hot, and in a timely manner.
Dining.....The Promenade cafe and Sorrentos Pizza were adequate, I wish they would change the menus up a bit....Pizza was only fair. Windjammer buffet was very good, food was fresh and hot. The girls loved the buffet, so we ate there a lot! The food in the Dining room was wonderful!
Rooms....We had been upgraded to Balcony rooms, so we had very little to complain about! Rooms were kept clean and orderly, and in good repair.
Entertainment.... was awesome! Saturday night fever was spectacular, and the aerial show was one of the best I have ever seen! We loved the ice skating show so much, we went twice!
Disembarkation...We carried our bags off the ship, and it took about 30 minutes to navigate the lines, and get on the road. Easy Peasy!
I would give this ship an A+ and highly recommend it for families, singles, and Seniors. We had a ball!
